The Mungalis from Pune — (Retd.) Colonel Girija Shanker Mungali and Mrs. Devyani Mungali — are a remarkable couple whose shared vision and leadership have built one of the country’s most respected educational institutions, the Sanskriti Group of Schools.

A paratrooper and a teacher by profession, they represent courage and compassion working hand in hand. After 24 years of distinguished service in the Indian Army, Col. Mungali brought his leadership, discipline, and clarity of thought into education. His Army tenure saw him serve as a mountaineer, instructor at NDA and IMA, and even as captain of the Indian Army’s rafting team. Today, as Chairman and Founder of Sanskriti Group, he continues to inspire young minds toward fitness, fearlessness, and service to the nation.

Mrs. Devyani Mungali, Director and Co-founder, has dedicated over three decades to education. Her vision focuses on personalised learning, compassion, and holistic growth. A writer of 13 books—including those now part of the Uttarakhand school curriculum—she has received numerous honours, including the Indian Education Excellence Award, Prof. Indira Parikh Women in Education Leaders Citation, and The Times of India Power Woman Award.
