We are glad to inform that Sanskriti School, Undri has adopted a tiger named “Arjun” from the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park as part of their Animal Adoption Scheme. Starting 29 July, on the occasion of National Tiger’s Day, we have adopted the tiger for a month.

On this special occasion, Team Sanskriti comprising of the Students’ Council members, two teachers, security incharge officer, lady attendants and a driver visited the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park in the early hours on 29 July. The students were very excited and had a list of activities planned by the teachers. They had their faces painted with a short session on information about the zoo animals. A street play was performed by them on the theme- “Save the tiger”. The children indulged in making on the spot poems, slogans and drawings. They then sang a song prepared by the teachers expressing their excitement.

The aim of the scheme is to involve citizens and animal lovers in the conservation of wild animals.
The zoo gets a sizeable income from the gate collection, sale of compost manure and parking fee. Despite this income, the zoo still needs more money to feed large species of animals and birds housed there.
This endeavour of adopting animals comes as a helping hand for the zoo which has to manage its resources to maintain the wild animals without depending upon the government.

Hope this noble gesture by Sanskriti School, Undri encourage people to come ahead and adopt various animals in the zoo.
